David Studdert first heard of LiveView Technologies from his neighbor—LVT Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Manufacturing and Operations Bob Brenner. Studdert officially joined the company as a consultant in 2011 in order to expand the clientele to state governments, departments of transportations, and other government agencies. Soon, he was appointed LiveView Technologies’ Chief Sales and Marketing Officer with a particular emphasis on business development. 

Studdert was raised in Washington, D.C. and holds a degree in international law and diplomacy from Brigham Young University. When he joined LVT, he brought a wide range of professional experiences—everything from driving long haul trucks and acting as a hunting guide in Montana to managing the national tour for Warren Miller Entertainment and sales and marketing for i3 Technologies.

Studdert has extensive experience with state, federal, and international governments. He worked as a White House Appointee and United States Diplomat from 2003 to 2006 and has experience working with the U.S. Department of State, United States Agency for International Development, and other federal and international agencies. After his time in Washington, D.C., Studdert returned to Utah to start i3 Technologies with current LVT Chief Information and Technology Officer Steve Lindsey.

After such a wide range of experiences, Studdert said he was drawn to LVT because he, “Didn’t want to make just another service. I wanted to be part of a company that actually makes a difference.” He emphasized how security often has a negative connotation, but LVT is actually about helping companies and communities increase safety. 

When Studdert joined LVT, the company was transitioning to more commercial clients, but it wasn’t anywhere near what it is today. In fact, Studdert was assisting CEO Ryan Porter with a bid in North Dakota. However, they did not have a rental car or a hotel room for the entire trip. They had nowhere to sleep and stayed anywhere they could find, including stores and laundromats. They did what they had to and won the contract. Today, LVT has more than 200 employees (and yes, we do put them up in hotels when they travel) and some of the biggest companies in the world use LVT’s security solutions. With the astounding growth Studdert hopes, “We never forget our roots. I hope that as LVT continues to grow, we remember the work and sacrifices that were made to get it to this point.” 

Outside of LVT, Studdert has two loves—his family and the outdoors. He enjoys almost any outdoor activity, including snow skiing, biking, and fishing, especially when he is joined by his wife or one of their four children.
